In the year 2011 CRECO undertook to implement the project ‘ Towards a Responsive Legal and Institutional Framework in Kenya’ which was funded by HIVOS. Among proposed activities was setting up of Resource Centres in at least two counties in Kenya which would serve as a pilot and inform further setting up of more centres in other counties.
Kisumu and Taita Taveta Counties were identified and were beig cordinated by Two CRECO member Organisations – ST JUDES and SEMA TRUST respectively. In Kisumu, the Resource Centre was launched and officially opened on 7th July 2012 at KOSAWO Social Centre Manyatta by Hon. Shakeel Shabir Member of Parliament Kisumu Town East.
The Taita Taveta Resource was opened on Friday 26th October 2012 at Wundanyi and was officiated by Engineer Elijah Mwadoe.
These Centres will enhance knowledge availability to the people of the two communities.
