About CRECO Kenya
Founded in 1998, CRECO Kenya is a network of Public Benefit Organizations (PBOs) and Human Rights Defenders in Kenya working in the areas of human rights, governance and democracy. We work in the areas of civic participation; constitutional awareness and implementation; and governance sector PBOs coordination and strengthening. We envision a sovereign and well governed society through safeguarding pro-people governance and constitutionalism.
In an era defined by rapid technological advancements and pervasive influence of digital platforms, the intersection of democracy, technology, and information has become a critical area of exploration for CRECO Kenya. The rise of digital democracy has transformed how citizens engage with governance, participate in public discourse and hold leaders accountable. However, this digital revolution has also brought with it significant challenges, particularly the spread of misinformation and disinformation and fake news, which threaten the integrity of democratic processes and societal cohesion.
